Happy National Fried Chicken Day! To celebrate, we’ve rounded up the best of the best here for you to check out. Leave a comment and let us know if we missed an excellent fried chicken restaurant out!
Best Fried Chicken in the Foothill Community
Chick-Fil-A Glendora: This place is always packed for a reason! Their chicken is fried to perfection and served on the most delightful buns, or slightly sweet biscuits if you’re lucky enough to get there in time for breakfast. We also love their chicken nuggets, and the grilled chicken is delectable! Whatever spice rub they are using on it, we need to find out because it makes you so satisfied you don’t even miss the crispy fried bits. We love their kids’ meals because they come with fruit like blueberries and apples, plus you can take your toy to the front counter and exchange it for an ice cream cone if you’re in the mood!
Honeybird La Canada (coming soon to Claremont!). Honeybird goes for the southern hospitality gold with their renditions of collard greens (heavy on the bacon), mac n cheese (panko crumb topping), and a brussels sprouts dish that has ruined us for all other brussels. This is all a bonus, though, because their fried chicken really is the BEST. Just enough crispiness, seasoning, and juicy inside.
Bolo in the Glendora Public Market. The crunchy buttery sweet Bolo buns the chicken sandwiches are served on prove that the whole is more than just a sum of parts. The ingredients all work together to make a magical asian-inspired chicken sandwich that is as delightful to eat as it is to look at. The chicken tenders at BOLO are the biggest we’ve ever seen, and a single order fed 5 children last time we visited! Combine these parts with their milk tea and incredible ice cream sandwiches served in the bolo buns and we have ourselves a gold medal!
Jollibee Rancho Cucamonga. You might be saying yikes! Another chain? Yes, because like Chick Fil A this one is worth the mention. Their chicken has that light satisfying crunch! And if you haven’t already noticed we also appreciate sides here at Your Foothill Community. Jollibee has three types of rice that keep us very satisfied! Have you tried the garlic rice?! If not you’re missing out! Plus spaghetti, fries, burgers and more options for all of the varying tastes of your family members (ahem, picky toddlers)!
Clyde’s Hot Chicken in Montclair: true Nashville style Hot Chicken in our own backyard! Served on top of a thick slice of slightly sweet white bread to sop up all the delicious juices and drippings that come off the bird, and topped with a pickle. Perfection in a hot chicken sandwich! We love Clyde’s because they also serve cauliflower as a meat-alternative option, and have breakfast items as well! Another huge plus- they serve two choices of fries: waffle or crinkle.
Main Chick in Pasadena: they have a super simple menu with chicken (your choice of light or dark meat) in 5 hotness levels, two sides, and crinkle cut fries. Usually with a menu like this the food is divine, am I right?! They also serve pickles with everything which means a lot to the most seasoned fried chicken aficionados!
Whether you go with traditional fried chicken, Nashville style, or asian inspired, you won’t be disappointed with the Foothill Community’s selection of fried chicken restaurants. Next time there’s a concert in the park on your summer to-do list may we suggest ordering take-out fried chicken and bringing it with you for an easy and tasty picnic? Don’t forget to invite us! We wouldn’t want to miss an outing like that!
