This 18 year old runs a nonprofit that picks unwanted fruit from donors’ backyards and donates it to local food banks. Oh and in his spare time he’s ranked #1 in tennis and is now a freshman at Stanford! It is SO exciting to see something like this happening in the Foothill Communities! They need more donors in Claremont! If you’ve got fruit you’re not eating, please send Mihir at Fruitfully Yours a message! Or forward this info to a friend who has tons of fruit trees and no way of harvesting them all.As they say…”Don’t let it drop, Donate the crop!”
This is not your typical 18 year old. His name is Mihir and he’s headed to Stanford this fall for his freshman year. He hopes to be on the tennis team. Oh, and in his free time, he’s fighting hunger, food waste, and the environmental crisis as the CEO of a non-profit he started, called Fruitfully Yours. And he’s doing all of this from his home in the Foothill Community!
We couldn’t be more proud or excited to feature Fruitfully Yours as our local Business of the Week!I was my pleasure to meet Mihir and some of his team at a “Pick” recently. Nearly every weekend, a group of volunteer “Pickers” is organized to visit a Donor’s home to pick their trees, bushes, or vines. Once the fresh produce is harvested, it’s delivered directly to a local food bank for immediate distribution to the hungry in our area.In the interview you will see what an outstanding human Mihir is, and his ingenious way to solve three different problems at once. It was an honor to speak to him because it reminded me of the goodness in people, and the power of standing up for what you believe in! I also felt such a sense of pride knowing that he is from the Foothill Community!
Fruitfully Yours really needs more Donors! So if you have fruit trees of any kind on your property and would be willing to have their team of Pickers come for a harvest please contact Mihir and his team! They’re on Facebook, Instagram, and their website is www.FruitfullyYours.org They pick from areas neighboring Glendora: San Dimas, Azusa, Claremont, La Verne, Pomona, and if you have a large haul they might be willing to travel a bit further!
