Local Business Feature: Chantal Balta with New York Life
‘Thrilled’ isn’t the usual word that comes to mind when thinking about life insurance, but it is when you work with Chantal to set it up! We are absolutely thrilled to feature Chantal Balta with New York Life as our local featured business this week. Her charm, wit, and dry sarcasm are the perfect antidote to the somber topic of death! But rather than dwell on that aspect of her job, she prefers to look at the positives of life insurance: helping families and business owners protect what they love most. Chantal spends time educating her clientele because she believes financial literacy & knowledge are basic human rights and she is an advocate for empowering people to make smart decisions. Her mission is to spread the word about what she does and why it’s important.
So why IS life insurance so important? Well, because funerals cost more than the average wedding! And because if your spouse passes away, how will you make enough money on your own to feed your family? How about enough to shelter and clothe them? Life insurance policies cover all of that, and then some. Chantal can customize your policy to your exact specifications, and she also carries many other products that can help build generational wealth too! Where Chantal excels is in taking concepts that are difficult to grasp and simplifying them to make them easy to understand for even the most inexperienced of us.
A graduate of Scripps College, Chantal’s major was Mathematical Economics- no wonder she can synthesize complicated insurance policy math into easy to digest tidbits for the rest of us! A native of Rancho Cucamonga, Chantal recalls a pivotal moment that eventually led her to pursuing life insurance- a friend of hers had been working weekends and after school to help support his family when he died unexpectedly. The family had to set up a Go Fund Me for his funeral expenses and was under the gun to raise money in time for the services. Then and there, Chantal decided she would do everything in her power to never see another Go Fund Me for a funeral again.
She is working hard to make that goal a reality! Chantal offers free consultations and can be reached by phone at (909) 333-2909 or email at csbalta@ft.newyorklife.com or on LinkedIn here.
Don’t be afraid to think about (and even plan for) death! As Chantal says, it’s so much easier to put aside $2-3 a day and skip the Starbucks than raise funds on a deadline after a sudden death. In addition to life insurance, you can also plan for retirement, college, estate, long term care and income strategies with Chantal Balta with New York Life, our local business feature this week.
