Best Spots for a Girls Night Out in Claremont
Is there anything better than a night out with the girls sipping on cocktails and having fun?! This guide on the best spots for a girls night out in Claremont will help remind you of all the fantastic eateries we have right in our own backyard! I recommend making reservations where you can because even on weekdays these places get booked up!

Excellent atmosphere and even better food. Service is great and the bar is gorgeous too. You can go here for a dinner and feel like you’ve been on vacation to the bayou. Love it! The shrimp & grits was the best EVER and the catfish was delish too. They even have vegan options.

Farm-to-Table cuisine that’s always seasonal and fresh. This goes for cocktails too- they have the best fruit-forward and herbaceous cocktails to complement the rustic italian food. And did I mention homemade pasta!? So good. Sitting indoors is fun- the dining room is teeny tiny and the kitchen is open so it’s a fun experience. Plus the bar is in the little attic loft space only accessible by a ladder (and only fits one person up top). When your drink is ready they send it down via a dumbwaiter. So fun! I recommend the fresh bread and the meatballs. And if they’re in season the green beans are incredible!

This has become an old standby in Claremont but it’s one you never get tired of! The pizzas are incredible, the drinks list is long and every. Single. one . is delicious. Happy hour at the bar is great but so is brunch with the kids on the weekends!

This is the perfect spot for happy hour on a warm summer afternoon. Do yourself a favor and grab a glass of rose and the goat cheese balls (they’re deep fried and drizzled with honey. You’re welcome.) and a spot on the patio for people watching. Mmmmm *chef’s kiss*

For an authentic tapas experience this is the place to go! I love their sangria because it’s filled with small cubes of watermelon. None of that orange peel or apple crap to deal with! Really though it leveled up the sangria so much that I make it this way myself now. On top of the delicious sangria you can get so many traditional tapas and main dishes too to make it a full meal. The location is an adventure in itself- you have to go down a long (and largely unmarked) hallway to get to the front door.

Don’t let the fact that this is a chain burger restaurant stop you from going here for a girls’ night. I’ve done it more than once…. In the same week! Ha! They have insanely delicious cocktails and arguably the best fries in the IE. (If you like fries also see Back Abbey). Their salads are delicious too and the best part is that they’re open until very late!

Are you seeing a common theme here? Great drinks, excellent selection of appetizers, great ambience. Gus’s has it all and then some! I love to order drinks at the bar and take them to the fire pit to enjoy while waiting for a table.

Hidden on the side of the plaza, the Back Abbey is known for their burgers & beer, but they have so much more! Wine, pretzels, seasonal specials, and now a huge heated patio to sit and enjoy. Recently they added live music a few days a week.

Spoiler alert- there’s much more than just wine! This is one of the best restaurants in Claremont but it’s still a hidden gem, not many people know about it! It looks like a wine store but step inside on a weekend evening and you’ll see it’s a hot dinner spot too. Their charcuterie boards are on point but also they have some of the best food I’ve had in the IE! You would be smart to order the brussels sprouts, cauliflower and/or the salmon. DROOL.

In an unassuming strip mall off Foothill Blvd you will find this fantastic restaurant/wine bar! It’s big enough for large events but also intimate enough for a birthday dinner. I love the shrimp & grits paired with a chardonnay.
